little big girl...

This past weekend Sydney went on her first trip without us! She spent the weekend and went to Kings Island with my dad and stepmom and she had an absolute blast. It honestly blows my mind that Sydney is big enough to do anything without us but she not only did it, she had so much fun and has not stopped talking about it since she got home. When my dad brought her home she seemed bigger to me, somehow older just because she was big enough to spend that much time away. I hate that she's getting older because it is just happening way too fast but I love that she had the quality time with Dad and Di, and had tons of fun with her cousins as well. I'm kind of proud of her for braving the weekend without mommy and daddy.....my little girl is too big.

Here are pics from her weekend....

brother/sister time...

I feel like just recently Sydney has finally gotten used to Miles being around and instead of being jealous or just not knowing what to do with him, she just really enjoys him being here with us. And of course Miles has always been entertained by Sydney :) This has been such a fun and sweet time of progression and one that I've tried to capture on camera the last couple days. I can't wait to see how their brother/sister relationship grows through the years...

Why I love pinterest...

Have you ever visited the site Pinterest? Well if you haven't, you should. The latest thing I saw on there that I just had to make was this giant ruler growth chart that is actually a knock off of a Pottery Barn Kids growth chart. I decided with as often as we tend to move, that was the perfect kind of growth chart for our kiddos because it can move with us! So, I made one and it turned out pretty darn good.....

Instead of just getting any piece of wood, I used a piece from the old garage at Josh's parents house which gives it a little more meaning :) I started mine at 6 inches up so the "ruler" looks 6 1/2 ft tall. I used a medium tip paint marker (wish I would have gotten the fine tip!) and I made some of the lines longer (like 1/4 and 1/2 inch) to look like a ruler. I didn't have stencils so I just printed off large numbers from Microsoft Works, cut them out, traced them in pencil and filled them in with the marker.  I love how it turned out and we got started right away measuring everyone....

she's geting too big!

Miles is so happy about being measured :)

And after that madness, we had a little crazy time with a Mr. Potato Head mouth.....

4 months old and where have we been??

It's been a long month! We spent most of the month at Josh's parents while he worked on a house there while the rest of the month was sprinkled with lots of cousin time, a fair, a parade, dress up time, preparing for a yard sale, getting sick (and me having vertigo, boo!), a lot of heat and times with no electricity (due to a big storm)...which also meant a canceled trip by our dear friend Mandi to come and see us :(. But after all the fun, not so fun, traveling and busyness I am glad to say we are now at home, with electricity (i.e. A/C!!!), and trying to get back into a bit of a routine.

AND, today Miles is 4 months old!!! Time is literally flying by and I cannot believe how big this little guy is getting. He weighs just over 14 lbs, can roll over every now and then (from front to back), and sleeps like a champ! And we introduced food to him recently too in efforts to regulate his bowel movements and boy has it worked. He's been loving his avocado and sweet potato!!

On to the pictures....
