catching up on celebrations....

Since the last post we've celebrated Sydney's birthday, brought in the new year, and now celebrating Miles' big 10 months! Here are pictures of it all...but we'll start backwards :)

Miles continues to grow into the sweetest boy. He is so smiley, so calm, loves to giggle. He is very curious and loves to explore. The second he hears a door open to a room he's been gated off from, he crawls faster than I knew possible to get there in time to squeak in. He still has no teeth and still wakes occasionally at night (but getting WAY better!). He is starting to insist on feeding himself finger foods and loves bananas, yogurt, and peas. He says mama and dada (but not to the right people yet) and loves to babble on like he's having a conversation with you. He's a precious little boy and I can't even believe we are two months from celebrating one year!

We had Josh's brother Tim and his family visit for a couple days and brother Dave and his family joined us also for New Years Eve. It was great to be together and the kids/cousins had so much fun (and didn't drive us too crazy :)

the kids had some sparkling juice to cheers to

the little table :)

Sydney just ate up her time with her cousins and  was so sad
when they left

And finally, back on December 27th we celebrated Sydney's 5th birthday. For some reason that feels like such a milestone to me...no longer a toddler or preschooler but ready to face the world of school and friends and time away from us....I don't think I'm ready for this! We asked Syd what she wanted to do for her special day and she wanted to go to the mall and play. So we went and she played in the kid area, rode a little kiddie ride in the food court, played some arcade games, and shopped at Claire's. I think she had a good day :)

Sydney has grown so much in the last year in so many ways. She grew literally and went up 3 shoe sizes in 2 months! She became a big sister and has handled the new role so well. She is helpful, loving, sweet and excited to be with her brother. It's awesome to watch. Sydney has slowly broken out of her shell, making new friends a couple houses down. She still has an awesome imagination and gets more creative as she gets older. She loves to draw and color. She loves riding her bike and giving her best shot at sports. She has a new found love of horses and unicorns. She loves music and has a great memory in recalling melody and lyrics (which can be scary when it's songs we don't love). She has such a tender heart, loves to be helpful, and loves to make people laugh and smile (and can do that pretty easily as she is hilarious). She still calls me "mama" which I love and know won't last long. Sydney, daddy and I love you more than you can ever know. You are a wonderful daughter with a beautiful heart and we cannot wait to see what God has in store for you. We are so lucky to have you!!
