I love this season for so many reasons, but one being that it's a great time to focus on what I'm thankful for, what I value, and what is important.
I'm thankful for....
- A God who loves me, knows me, sees me, forgives me, and walks with me.
- my husband who I love more each day, who loves me for me, who works hard to provide for our family, who loves his children so well, who I feel honored to call my partner and friend
- my two wonderful kids. Sydney who has such a big heart and an unbelievable imagination, who loves to bring joy to others, who gets joy from being helpful. Miles who always has the sweetest grin on his face and loves a good snuggle :)
- for God providing for us during a tough financial time. Josh's job pretty much disappeared in July and he didn't get a new steady job until a couple weeks ago. In the meantime God has provided for our every need. He's taught me the difference between "needs" and "wants". He's humbled us in order to receive help from others. He's shown us what matters, redirected our priorities, and allowed us to see what is worthy to hold value in our lives. I'm thankful for this season of fully relying on my Father God as I have learned so much about trusting Him completely.
- my home and the ability to pay rent, my car and the fact that it runs well, food to eat at every meal, and clothes to wear in every season.
- my family and friends, both near and far
- a church that is slowly becoming home
- BSF and the ladies in my group and group leader who challenge me to think differently
- the ability to stay home with my kids and form a strong foundation of stability, consistency, truth and character in their little lives
- and the list could go on and on and on.... :)

I got an idea from
this blog to do a "Thankful Tree" with Sydney. We wrote one thing she was thankful for on a leaf every day. She had fun coming up with new things and I loved to hear it all. Her first was God, and I love that she came up with that on her own. She had a few more really good ones like How strong Jesus is, her family, and how Jesus made her heart. She also had some cute ones like unicorns, her blankie, dancing, and chocolate :) I'm definitely thankful for a thankful daughter!
